Plan Your Wedding Timeline
When planning your wedding here are some approximate time frames that need to be considered. In the beginning this timeline may seem extensive but being organized will help you prepare.
CAPTURING THE DETAILS – 30 minutes
Allot 30 minutes to capture the details of your special day. We recommend to capture these moments in the morning at the Bridal Suite or Hotel Suite. Plan at least 30 minutes for the details this ensures that we have adequate time to perfect the photo of the dress, rings, shoes, bouquets, and the other details of the day.
COVERING THE PREPARATION – 45 minutes
Plan to have 45 minutes to an hour of preparation. At this time, we are will be getting close ups of the bride and groom getting ready for the day. These are some of the most emotional and fun times of the day, so we want to make sure we capture these moments. Our lead shooter will be with the bride while our second shooter will be with the groom.
INDIVIDUAL PORTRAITS – 30 minutes
Set aside 30 minutes for individual portraits of the Bride and Groom. The benefit of the makeup and hair being completely fresh, will enhance these special moment. The ideal location is the Bridal Suite, Hotel Suite, Venue Lobby, or Venue Garden.
FIRST LOOK AND COUPLES SESSION – 30 minutes
Allot 30 – 60 minutes for the first look. We will be capturing the bride and groom seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. In addition we will be shooting a few basic portraits of the bride and groom. Ideal location is the Venue Garden, Empty Venue Hallway or shaded areas with natural light.
WEDDING PARTY PHOTOS – 60 minutes
Plan 45-60 minutes for the Wedding Party Photos. We will start with the classic photos focused on great expressions and lighting then move into the fun and creative shots. Ideal locations are Venue Lobby, Venue Garden, Beach, Park, or Off-site location.
TIME FOR FAMILY – 60 minutes
Time for Family. Schedule 45-60 minutes for immediate family photos. It’s important to highlight the special people in you life being your parents, grandparents, and siblings. A good guide line is 4 minutes per group on average. This means if your have 5 groups 20 minutes. Plan an outline of your groups a head of time this way we can stay on schedule. At this time we would like to allow 20 minutes for the second shooter to take pictures of the ceremony venue, while it is completely set up with no guests or working staff in the area.
FORMALS – 45 minutes
Formals should take around 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the size of your family and the number of guests. Plan 4 minutes per group, some couples want pictures with selected guests and others with all guests. We recommend hosting something in between to keep your guests satisfied. In additon recommend being very organized, having a list of groups and helpers from each side of the family to help round people up will make the day run smooth. The ideal location is the ceremony site.
COUPLES SESSION – 45 minutes
Couple session should be around 1 hour and should take place ideally 30 to 45 minutes before sunset. This is the best time in terms of lighting allowing us to capture scenic shots. The ideal time of the day is late afternoon during sunset. Recommended location is the Venue Garden, Beach, Hotel Lobby, or Park.
RECEPTION DETAIL AND VENUE – 30 MINUTES
Please allow 30 minutes on site for the second shooter to take pictures of the reception room, completely set up with no guests or working staff in the area. Similar to the ceremony details, this is the one opportunity we have to capture the elegance of the reception room prior to guest arrival.
COUPLES SESSION – RECEPTION SNEAK OUT
During the reception, please plan a time to sneak out for a few night shots. A quick 20-30 minutes to appreciate the night photography that we deliver. We recommend right after you grab a bite to eat or during the open floor dancing and would like a break. Another suggestion would be to get these shots after all your guests have departed.
Table shots are when you go around visiting tables. There are two options for photography during this time. First,ly you can take formal pictures with all individual tables or secondly we can focus on capturing the expressions of your guests as you mingle with each table. If your plan is to have formal table shots, please consider a timeline of 3-5 minutes per table.
